We love our local Lahori boy Faraz Manan for his sparkling aesthetic and his capacity to churn collection after collection, project after project but we exceptionally love him for being the only Lahore based designer showing at the Fashion Pakistan Week Autumn Winter 2014. After a stellar solo showcase in Lahore, he’s now all set to tame another market. Here he gives a sneak peak into his collection for #FPWAW14

What are the key trends this season?
Women who wear black lead colorful lives” Neiman Marcus
Black is the new black! For many reason; it’s a classic color, perfect for winter season and most importantly, its body flattering for both, men and women. Pair it with gold to add the oomph factor and glam! We are doing crop tops, flared pants, tweed jackets, embellished gowns and skirts that can be paired with jeans, black pants and jumpsuits due to its diversity in modern cuts, silhouettes and detailing.
What is your inspiration for your presentation this season?
Each season Faraz Manan makes us experience a lifetime with his creations and the story behind each piece. Manan finds inspiration through travel as it has been known as one of the most direct and visceral ways of feeding the soul. This time Manan takes Shanghai, or as they say “Paris of the east”. The cosmopolitan lifestyle is awe-inspiring, its fashion forward yet very rich in culture and essence. Also because it’s the biggest hub of finest fabrics, silk and textiles.
