Eid ul Fitr is my favourite holiday in Pakistan. I love the festivity leading up to it, the hustle bustle of chand raat and then finally the Eid itself. I’m just not one of those people who like to sleep Eid in. Love the dressing up, meeting people, catching up with friends and family and of course the eating away throughout the day.
What I also love about Eid is opening your home to near and dear. I remember the night before Eid would be insane at our house when I was growing up with the entire family busy between the kitchen and getting the house ready to greet guests. If you want to give your home an economical uplift right before Eid you can do it with a few small touches. My normal go to is the lifestyle store as they stock practically anything you can think of under one roof.
Here are my quick recommendations:
Candles are a quick way to warm up space to guests. I loved the scented ones as they make the environment more inviting. Find the scent that works for you and get a candle.
Rooms that are too dark or too bright are unwelcoming. Get the right lamps to make a room welcoming for your guests.
Fresh flowers will brighten up any room. Invest in a few good vases and flowers are a cheap way to make a room look luxurious.
You don’t need to change curtains and sofas to add colours. A few simple trinkets and decoration pieces can add the right amount of colour.
Lifestyle has opened a new concept store in Centaurus Islamabad. In Pakistan Lifestyle is the only brand of its kind offering the complete luxury home solution. Products are of the highest quality grade to ensure lasting satisfaction and modern design elements. I highly recommend a quick visit short of Eid to get your home ready for the festivities.
