One of the most phenomenal successes in Pakistan fashion recently, Sania Maskatiya has gone from strength to strength in the recent past. With a number of Pret a Porter shows both locally and globally under her belt already this year, the fashion house is all set to present it’s Bridal Couture for the season.
What is your design philosophy?
Sania Maskatiya designs often take imaginative inspiration from a unique interplay of colours, using imagery inspired by nature and her surroundings manifest across three main lines including prêt a porter, luxury wear and haute couture, for women of all ages. The brand also retails a selection of Menswear apparel. The Sania Maskatiya design house uses only pure fabrics cut and draped in a range of silhouettes creating versatile looks across all their fashion lines. Indeed the acclaimed house of fashion engages the finest craftsmen across Pakistan, hailing from generations of artisans practicing time-honoured craftsmanship and embroideries.
What is the key bridal trend this season?
In keeping the traditional decorative motifs and techniques that we have inherited over the centuries that aspires to appeal to the modern bride.
What is your inspiration for the bridal presentation this year?
Ara-Ornaments’ by Sania Maskatiya draws inspiration from the art of ornamentation and features decorative motifs and techniques used over centuries in signature Sania Maskatiya cuts.
With intricate floral patterns juxtaposed with geometrics, the collection presents a unique take on bridal couture that aspires to appeal to the modern bride by merging celebration with sophistication, and whimsy with elegance, staying true to the brands’ signature aesthetic of contrasting materials and patterns. ‘Ara-Ornaments’ presents an array of cotton nets, Indian nets, lamé, exclusive digital prints, worked with exquisite resham, zardozi, gota, and pearl work.
How is this collection different from your collections before?
Every time we create a new line, we experiment with various prints and fabric. However we always stay true to our aesthesis when it comes to the final product.
What are you personally most excited about?
Creating a whole new range of bridals.

What are you doing immediately after the Bridal Week?
Hot off the ramp, Ara-Ornaments will be available to view and order with designer Sania Maskatiya herself, on Wednesday 1 st October, from 11am – 6pm at the Sania Maskatiya Lahore flagship store on MM Alam road. Furthermore, the brands’ festive Eid collection will also be available at the brand’s Karachi & Lahore stores as of Wednesday 1 st October with the Sania Maskatiya design team present to assist with styling advice and outfit choices.
