Huma Adnan’s FnK Asia is a depiction of her love for the traditional handwork of Pakistan. Started many years ago, FnK Asia is one of the pioneer brands to introduce fusion wear inspired by tribal prints and embroidery. Today, FnK Asia stands proud as one of the stronger retail brands in the country staying true to it’s aesthetics many years on. Here Huma tells us about her upcoming collection.

The FnK Asia Philosophy:

Intrinsically ethnic in its ethos, FnkAsia was created in 2005 to give women of the sub-continent a bohemian identity that could be interpreted anywhere in the world. Brainchild of Huma Adnan, FnkAsia rapidly became a fashionable identity, earmarked by its signature vivid palette, beaded embroidery and love for hand-worked craft. Nine years, countless international showings and a burgeoning business model later, the brand has now expanded to encompass its Signature line “Huma Adnan”.

Key Trends this Season:

Folklore and fantasy is the key word this season at Fnkasia with fun anklets and jewels.

What to expect from FnK Asia this Season:

This season the collection Folk Spirit comprises classic separates like tailored skirts and jackets/ waistcoats with intricate detailing. The new trend alert are the hand made anklets and Accessorized leggings. The use of unique embroidered detailing on each piece maintains the delicate line between desi and modern.

The collection is for those who love adventure and are explorers.

Key Inspiration for the Show:

FOLK SPIRIT | Get ready for a far flung adventure! Winter’s exotic new mood takes you around the world with folk accents, rich embroidery and a free-spirited feeling.

Designers looking forward to:

All designers put in a lot of hard work and effort in putting up a collection. I am looking forward to see some fun stuff from each one of them.

What are you doing after Fashion Week :

I have to make sure the collection gets released all over ASAP. And then move on to an international joint venture which I’m very exited about. Fingers crossed.
