Zohra Rahman Jewellery

Zohra Rahman Jewellery to put simply is Art. While most designers in the country look towards the lucrative and ‘safe’ bridal and traditional jewellery segment, Zohra has embraced sterling silver and turns it into modern jewellery pieces which range from everyday wear to statement pieces.

We were lucky enough to get a sneak preview of her collection for her Pop Shop and yes, as anticipated not only fell in love but also did our little bit of retail therapy (blogger privileges :)) Zohra, who came back to Pakistan three years ago after studying Jewellery Design at Central Saint Martins in London, was working on commissioned pieces with a very select clientele till recently when she decided to finally go commercial (Thank GOD). Her Pop Shop opens at the ‘Generation’ store for week starting the 23rd November 2014 all the way to the 30th.

Her workshop was magic. While Zohra had decided to primarily focus on designing the pieces when she came back, she realized that the quality of output she was looking for was very hard to find in the local market. Slowly she set up her own workshop where she conceptualizes and crafts each piece herself with her Assistant Ilyas who she has trained from scratch to understand the her expectation of the quality of output. Each design comes to life here as Zohra melts, moulds and finishes piece after piece.

To understand Zohra’s skill and creativity it is essential to mention that her work has been internationally acknowledge and her pieces have actually been showcased in France. Her current collection for the Pop Shop has two lines… the first inspired by paper (which we by the way absolutely LOVE) and the other by Mohenjodaro featuring pieces representing the builders, the charmers, the hunters and the vandals.

If you have the taste for finer things or if you support our local artists or if you’re just a collector of beautiful jewellery pieces, do visit Zohra’s Pop Shop. Her collection includes rings, midi rings, necklaces, ear cuffs, earrings, anklets, matha patis and more.
