I love how as a society we have evolved out of the ‘girls-look-good-with-long-hair’ narrative. I see many women with such amazing haircuts, and whilst women are carrying their hairdos confidently, it is the many stylists in the city that have made this progress possible. I still remember that a decade ago I went to Muneeba’s to have my long tresses cut and was met by awe of the girl sitting next to me asking how I can do this to myself. My inspiration for cutting my hair was my cousin who put it very simply ‘its hair, it’ll grow back’. So, for those of you looking for a trim, a new cut or simply a change in your look, here’s a list of our favourite haircut salons in Lahore.
ALI TEISEEN, GULBERG
Ali and Teiseen, both having graduated from Vidal Sasoon in the 1980’s have seen it all when it comes to hair styling. They have a nifty place in Gulberg for a cut, colour and other hair services. Their haircuts range between Rs. 5000 to Rs. 10,000.
TONY & GUY, MM ALAM ROAD, GULBERG & DHA
Shammal has made quite the name for Tony & Guy in Lahore. It is the go to place for many men, women and children. They offer a range of cut, colouring and other services. It’s always better to walk in with an appointment as their salons are packed. Their cuts for women start from Rs. 2500 and varies based on whom you get your hair cut from: stylist, senior stylist or director. Toni & Guy is my go to salon for short haircuts!
NATASHA SAIGOL, G.O.R
Natasha has been in the hair business from a young age and has made quite the name for herself. She has a full service salon that is best known for haircuts and colour.
ARAMMISH, GULBERG, CANTONMENT & DHA
If you are looking for a non-fuss quick haircut, Aramish offers great service at a very reasonable price of around Rs. 2000. Since they are quite busy, it’s always better to make an appointment. They now have three full service salons across Lahore: Cantt, Gulberg and D.H.A Phase 5.
SAGAR & RAHEEM, MALL 1, MAIN BLVD
Conveniently located at Mall 1 on Main Boulevard, Sagar&Raheem offer haircuts, colour and various hair treatments at their salon. A haircut booked with a senior stylist costs around Rs. 4000.
BLAZON WOMEN, DHA
Blazon women is a full service salon that offers very reasonably priced haircuts for women. If you want to book several treatments without emptying out your wallet, this is the place to go. If you book a haircut with a stylist, it costs as little as Rs.800 and if you book it with Maaila and Amin, it costs around Rs.1600.
AIMEN SHAH AT STUDIO 42, GULBERG
This is another hidden gem in Lahore. Though I haven’t been here myself, my friends’ hair upon walking into and out of the salon was proof of how good Aimen’s work is. This is definitely my next destination for my summer hair. The salon offers hair and make up services. The charges for a haircut range between Rs.3000 to Rs.5000.
