‘Shanaas’ features a talented ensemble cast, led by the versatile Hajra Yamin in the role of Aneesa. Accompanying her are esteemed actors Sania Saeed, playing the role of Aneesa’s adoptive mother, Shamim Hilaly playing the role of her grandmother who is not happy with her presence in the house, Arez Ahmed as Aneesa’s best friend and fiancé, Shahzad Nawaz playing the role of Aneesa’s adoptive father, and Adnan Shah Tipu as Aneesa’s biological father.
While all the actors justified their roles superbly, Hajra Yamin was phenomenal as Aneesa. Her nuanced performance as a carefree girl, unaware of the truth surrounding her parentage, tugged at the viewers’ heartstrings. Hajra’s ability to convey a range of emotions with authenticity and vulnerability was nothing short of remarkable, leaving the audience emotionally invested in her journey from the opening scenes.
The production quality of Shanaas was truly exceptional, seamlessly weaving together some nice cinematography and a beautiful soundtrack. The masterful writing by Adarsh Ayaz skillfully navigated the delicate nature of the subject matter, ensuring that the impact of the revelation hit with maximum impact.
