5 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULDN’T USE MAKEUP WIPES

October 4, 2022

Makeup Wipes are a go-to item in your vanity pouch that helps you clean away makeup any time and anywhere. Take a makeup wipe out of the box, rub it around your skin, and all your makeup will be gone. It comes in handy and is easy to use. But, are they actually worth it?

Why You Shouldn’t Use Makeup Wipes

They are not worth the hype. Because you might be seriously harming your skin by using these wipes. You shouldn’t use makeup wipes because they are not at all safe to use. They not only do harm to our skin but to our environment as well. So, take a look at why you shouldn’t use makeup wipes.

DEPRIVE YOUR SKIN OF NATURAL OILS

Human beings have an acid mantle on their skin. This mantle works as a seal that locks in moisture and natural oils. It prevents dust and makeup to enter our skin. Makeup wipes are full of harsh chemicals that penetrate our skin and strip away the natural oils and moisture from the skin.

They make our skin super dry and sensitive. It makes the skin look dehydrated and dull and lets dirt and impurities enter your skin.

THEY DON’T CLEANSE YOUR SKIN

One of the biggest reasons why shouldn’t use makeup wipes is that they actually don’t do the job. They have just one task of removing the makeup and they partially fail it.

Makeup wipes only wipe off the outer layer of makeup from the skin and it appears clean. However, your skin is not actually clean until you do proper cleansing. Wipes do not clean your pores so makeup residue remains there which is a big concern. Because the residue remaining in your pores can turn into bigger skin issues.

THEY AREN’T SAFE FOR REMOVING EYE MAKEUP

As already mentioned, Makeup wipes have harsh chemicals. Our facial skin is delicate yet enduring enough to cope with these chemicals. However, using them on your eyes can cause a drastic loss to you.

Eye makeup can be too stubborn and makeup wipes seem a feasible way to get rid of all the mess in an instant. But, they are not reliable. The skin around your eye has the most sensitive tissues so you need to be careful with that. So, it is advisable to not use makeup vibes but rather opt for a mild cleanser to take off your makeup.

MAKE YOUR SKINCARE PRODUCTS LESS EFFECTIVE

When we are continuously using something which deteriorates our skin, the effect of other skincare products will also fall. With all the residue building up in your skin, your skin will break out and get over-dry.

It hinders the way of skincare products because they do not react when your skin is not completely clean.

THEY ARE HARMFUL FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

When the whole world is switching to reusable products in all walks of life, Makeup wipes are a setback. If you are a makeup wipe user, just rethink how many have you used in your life yet. Probably one a day. Where did it all go? Did you use it again?

No, Right? That is why we need to worry. Makeup wipes could not be recycled. We use it once and leave it to rot which causes environmental issues. A wipe can take almost forever to decompose naturally and lead to major environmental problems.
