Being a food lover it really excites us when a new restaurant opens up. And by that we don't mean likes of Fried Chicken joints. We are talking about real restaurants with a clear offering and a command over the cuisine they are serving. Which is why Bamboo Union and The Rice Bowl opening up, and that too across the road from each other, seemed like a real treat. Instead of our usual restaurant guides, we decided to do a face off between the two, since they serve similar cuisine (not same) and are based on the quick service, hassle free, simple food model.
Having worked as a delivery joint, we were expecting more variety from TRB and since we went to BU without any expectations, their menu seemed much more well rounded to us. We would have loved to see more variety of soups at TRB, since Chinese food is not much without a good soup. Even though choosing combinations and trying out more food is still more fun than a run of the mill Chinese restaurant. However we feel BU takes the lead here by a notch.
