Remember mid-October this year, when we announced that Gisele Bündchen was featured in Chanel No 5 ’s film ‘The One That I Want’? Well they are on a roll as always with their next film starring none other than Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne for Chanel.
The short feature film is titled ‘Reincarnation’ and has been directed by the super fabulous Karl Lagerfeld. The seven minute film was the perfect platform for Lagerfeld and Williams to work on an artistic collaboration together. In fact, it was Williams who wrote the lyrics and performed the song ‘CC The World’ that acts as the original soundtrack of the film.
Williams and Delevingne can both be seen as the starring roles in the film and will also be the face of the upcoming campaign of the Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 Métiers d’art collection. Delevingne will also be walking the ramp with Kendall Jenner on the show!
Whereas the story of the film goes; it has been inspired by an Austrian elevator operator’s jacket in the 1950’s and its influence on Coco Chanel. It revolves around Gabrielle Chanel on a holiday in Austria where she sees the elevator operator’s jacket and gets inspired to create her own interpretation of the jacket launching her exceptionally successful career in fashion. In the film, Williams plays the hotel elevator and the Emperor of Austria and Delevingne plays his wife, Empress Elizabeth ‘Sisi’ of Austria. They both sing together in the film which is a first for the supermodel.The film also supports special appearances by Heidi Mount, Jamie Bochert, Baptiste Giabiconi and Brad Kroenig.
We just LOVE how Chanel keeps producing short films par excellence in every aspect of the creation. Here is to looking forward to what they have in store for us for the upcoming Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 Métiers d’art collection.
