PRO TIPS ON HOW TO DITCH THE FLU VIRUS IN THIS MOODY WEATHER

Winters still seem like a wonderland story, however flu viruses have already set in and affecting the majority of us. Of the most miserable ones are the elderly and the kids plagued with it. It might make you wonder why some people do not catch flu at all, while others suffer from it all year long. What you do need to know is that, it all comes down to the strength of the immune system that refers to the body’s ability to fight infectious organisms.

So, folks, prevention of flu is as simple as taking good care of your health and keeping your guards high through the use of natural herbs and foods that can help you in this regard. Relying on a lot of drugs and chemicals is not advisable as these have their potential side effects.

Here we have rounded up a few natural ways to boost your immunity and stop cold and flu in its tracks.

MAKE AN OXYMEL

Oxymels are common in hippies where these are used for varied purposes. An oxymel is essentially a combination of raw honey and raw apple cider vinegar. It is then infused with herbs that do not taste well on their own but have powerful action against diseases.

• For making an oxymel for flu you will need:
• ½ cup of raw honey
• ½ cup of apple cider vinegar
• Herbs like ginger, cayenne pepper, lemon zest, garlic, and thyme.

Put all the ingredients in a glass container for canning and let it sit for four weeks at room temperature. You can use 2 teaspoons of this at a time 3 times in a day. This concoction helps in detoxifying body and keeps the immune system strong.



USE ESSENTIAL OILS

Peppermint essential oil has been found effective in the prevention of flu. You can rub this oil under your feet or apply it to temples or neck. It works by supporting the immune system and helping it in fighting flu and cold viruses.

BREW HERBAL TEA

Herbal teas are soothing and warm up your body promoting a feeling of well being. There are several combinations for these using herbs like lemon, cloves, turmeric, cinnamon and many other. Using honey as a sweetener adds to benefits and nutritional content of these.
