THE IMPORTANCE OF JEWELLERY

Mahira Khan

Anyone who has any inclination towards style knows that it is never just about clothes you wear. Style is all about understanding how to combine clothes, shoes and accessories together in the perfect way to create the look you want. In eastern wear, specifically,  jewellery plays a vital role. A heavily embellished outfit sans the right earrings or necklace does not make the same impact. Apart from this, socially also we are somewhat conditioned to link eastern clothes (esp wedding wear) with jewelry. Reama malik

One of the names we admire in the traditional  jewellery business here is Reama Malik, and to see her pieces make a collection on the ramp was no surprise. Ali Xeeshan’s showcase at the PFDC L’Oreal Paris Bridal Week 2016 used beautiful pieces from Gold by Raema Malik. If you didn’t already know, Raema Malik is a name that is synonymous with quality high-end fine jewellery pieces featuring a variety of precious stones in real gold.

On the ramp this year, one of our favourite looks was carried by the showstopper, the heartthrob of  the Pakistani nation, Mahira Khan. We spotted Mahira donned in Raema Malik Gold jewellery featuring a variety of ethnic pieces such as earrings, choker, necklaces, jhumkis and saharas made of gold with hints of emerald. Nothing screams stunning bride as a woman laden in gorgeous traditional jewellery, does it?

But this is not the only look that we totally fell in love with! Models such as Amna Baber, Fouzia Aman, Sunita Marshall among others also carried the looks very well on the catwalk this year at the PFDC L’Oreal Paris Bridal Week 2016.

The highlight for us was all about that intricate detail in each piece that could be seen even amidst all the hoopla on the ramp. Each individual piece shown on its own would easily be a complete look off the ramp! In real one doesn’t have to be laden with gold, but wear things that enhance one’s look. Whether it is an old heritage piece from your grand mothers collection, or something you have eyed at a jeweler’s shop, there is no denying the importance of the right jewels.

Kudos to Raema Malik for creating such beautiful pieces that will elevate any simple outfit to downright stunning.
