Let’s be real, the fact is, art matter. In any progressive society, or a society that hopes to progress, art will always matter. This is what the opening ceremony of the 6 th Lahore International Children’s Film Festival by the Little Art taught us.
The festival, is an initiative undertaken by an organization called The Little Art or better known as TLA. If you don’t know; TLA, has been taking this initiative since 2008. TLA argues, rightfully so, that arts is a vehicle for social, cultural and economic development and emphasize that film making as a process teaches children valuable lessons in artistic growth.
The opening ceremony, held at Faletti’s Hotel, Lahore included some prominent guests with speeches by some of the most coveted names in the industry such as Usman Peerzada, Asghar Nadeem Syed, Adeel Hashmi, Arif Baig, Shoaib Iqbal and Rana Mashood [Minister of Education & Youth Affairs]. At the ceremony, certificates were awarded to the selected films. This year 24 films were submitted from Pakistan while 5 were selected among the total of 166 films from 66 different countries.
