Pakistan’s drama industry is always full of surprises. Over the past few years, the drama industry has done some marvelous wonders that the audience still remembers. Today, we will have a close look into the top 6 famous Pakistani novels turned dramas that we can never stop praising.

Bin Roye

Famous Pakistani novels turned dramas

The drama serial Bin Roye was based on the novel “Bin Roye Ansoo”. It was written by the famous novelist Farhat Ishtiaq. This is one of a unique example of a novel that got turned into a film and a drama both. Bin Roye centers on love as it follows the life of Saba Shafiq who unknown to her cousin Irtaza, deeply loves him but he only thinks of her as a friend. The drama started with Mahira Khan, Humayun Saeed, and Armeena Rana Khan in the lead. This project was a huge success. The novel adaptation made it even more popular than just the written word. Bin Roye was developed under the banner of MD Productions.

The story” Bin Roye Ansoo” was first published in Khawateen Digest. Later in 2010, it was published as a novel by Ilm-o-Irfan Publishers. 

Shehr-e-Zaat

Shehr-e-Zaat is a 2012 Pakistani spiritual romantic drama serial. It is based on the novella of the same name by Umera Ahmad. Shehr-e-Zaat is a story of a young woman’s journey as she strives to make up for all the time she has lost in worldly pursuits and finally give in to Allah’s will, after learning the harsh realities of life she traveled from Self to Subsistence. Shehr-e-Zaat proved to be a massive TRP buster on television.

Daastaan

Famous Pakistani novels turned dramas

Dastaan was a Pakistani TV series based on the novel Bano, by Razia Butt. The story of Daastaan was built on the true events of the partition of 1947. This series depicted the events of rioting and chaos in 1947. Daastaan is considered to be one of the best Pakistani Television series of all time. It was first aired on Pakistan’s Hum TV in 2010. This play is often considered one of the finest works produced on partition in contemporary times. The serial won several awards and nominations for its content as well as stellar performances. Sanam Baloch and Fawad Khan were in the main lead in the series.

Diyar-e-Dil

The story revolves around the splinted family issue with separated parents. The story concludes with a moral lesson regarding respect, love, and care in relationships. This drama serial was an adaptation of the novel Diyar-e-Dil written by Farhat Ishtiaq. This show was a huge hit and gave a lot of fame to the actors like Maya Ali and Osman Khalid Butt. Diyar-e-Dil was 2015’s highest-rated and most acclaimed program of Pakistan. It was also the most awarded show of 2015 and won awards for Best Drama Serial – Jury and Popular both.

Alif Allah Aur Insaan

Alif Allah Aur Insaan is a Pakistani Sufi spiritual drama series that aired on Hum TV. The story was adapted from Qaisra Hayat’s novel. This serial revolves around love, trust, and relationships and how the Creator rewards hard work, patience, and those who have faith and conviction. The series received the highest ratings and positive reviews on its premiere and was the slot leader throughout the time that it was on the air.

Meri Zaat Zara e Benishaan

Meri Zaat Zara e Benishaan is a spiritual masterpiece written by none other than Umera Ahmad. The novel was amazing and so the drama. The series is about Saba, a woman torn between faith, fidelity, and forgiveness and the story spans across two generations and then focuses on her daughter, Sara.
